Mr. Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa
Mr. Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa, was born in Chawinda, a town immortalized by the tank battle of 1965 war. He received his initial schooling in Chawinda from which his family was displaced by the war of 1965. Later he studied at Government College, Lahore and then graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He started his career as an engineer in National Motors in Karachi. Very quickly he came to the conclusion that engineering is not his cup of tea and switched over to industrial relations in the same organization. He passed his Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration and joined an American multinational company as its Manager Personnel and Industrial Relations. In due time, he was promoted to the position of a Director. After having passed LL.B examination, Mr. Bajwa entered the legal profession in 1989. He was enrolled as an Advocate in 1990, as Advocate High Court in 1992 and Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistani in 2003. During his career as a lawyer Mr. Bajwa specialized in Industrial Relations and Labour Laws and in this regard had a number of corporate clients including Allied Bank Limited, Habib Bank Limited, Muslim Commercial Bank Limited, Bank Alfalah, City Bank, Johnson & Johnson, National Refinery, Pak Arab Refinery, Philips Pakistan Limited and many others. He was elected President of Industrial Relations Advisors Association since 2002 and was re-elected as such till his elevation. Mr. Bajwa was elevated as an Additional Judge of Sindh High Court on 25.9.2009 and was appointed Judge of Sindh High Court in September 2011. |
