Mr. Justice Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui was born in a respectable family of Karachi. After completing graduation, he did his LLB from S. M. Law College; and subsequently completed his Masters in Law from the University of Karachi. He enrolled as an advocate for District Courts in 1992 and for High Court in 1994. He remained active as a member of the Karachi Bar Association and performed the assignment of Deputy Election Commissioner for the election of Bar. Justice Siddiqui worked in different fields of law which includes mainly Civil Laws, Rent Laws, Family Laws as well as Environmental and Constitutional Matters. In 2001, he joined judicial services as an Additional District & Sessions Judge and served at District Khairpur and Hyderabad. He was promoted as District & Sessions Judge in the year 2005 and served as District & Sessions Judge of district Qamber Shandadkot, District Karachi South, District Hyderabad, and District Karachi East. Justice Siddiqui also rendered his valuable services at Sindh Judicial Academy as Senior Faculty Member. He served as Member Inspection Team-I in the establishment of High Court of Sindh Karachi so also he performed duties as Registrar of the Sindh High Court, Karachi. He was elevated to the bench and took oath as Judge of the Sindh High Court on 30-11-2016. Apart from that Justice Siddiqui remained a member of the Board of Governors of Sindh Judicial Academy, Karachi. He is the person who introduced the concept of the importance of time and case management in Courts and wrote a book on the subject under the name of 'Case Flow Management' for judicial officers. He used to deliver lectures to the judicial officers at Sindh Judicial Academy, Karachi and also designed the curriculum for the training of newly inducted Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates for Sindh Judicial Academy. Prior to his elevation to bench, he also remained visiting faculty member of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law. He prepared several training manuals on handling juvenile cases, family cases, and recording of evidence, etc to be used in the said Academy. He has also authored two voluminous books namely (1) 'The Scope of Environmental Laws in Pakistan' published in the year 2000 and (2) 'Civil Litigation and Claims' published in 2004. Being a literary person, he has also authored several articles in different law journals while prior to joining judicial service he was active in writing on different topics in magazines and he has also served as an editor of the Sindh Baluchistan Law Reports. He remained in the Board of Governors of Liaquat University of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad and presently he is serving as the member of the Board of Governors of Institute of Business Administration and ILMA University, Karachi. Being Judge of the High Court, he has contributed a lot in the development of law and has authored many landmark judgments, out of which several judgments on social and environmental issues earned fame and will be remembered as celebrated cases on the issue. |
