Mr. Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput
Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput was born on 16 October, 1965 in Hyderabad, Pakistan. He did his Bachelors in Arts from Government City Arts College, Hyderabad, LL.B from Government Jinnah Law College, Hyderabad and Masters in International Relations from the University of Sindh. He also completed one-year course in Islamic Laws from Shariah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad. Mr. Rajput was enrolled with Sindh Bar Council as an Advocate in 1990 and became an Advocate of the High Court in 2001. Mr. Rajput practiced law for three years before he was selected as Judicial Magistrate in the year 1993. He was promoted as Senior Civil Judge & Assistant Sessions Judge in the year 2000. During service as Judicial Officer, Mr. Rajput attended Training Course for Judicial Officers held by Sindh Judicial Academy, Karachi as well as Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad in 1993 and Judicial Training Course held by the Sindh Judicial Academy in 2001. He later on left the service in 2001 and put all attention to his private practice. He also taught law in Sindh Law College, Hyderabad for 12 years as Lecturer and Assistant Professor. As an advocate, he remained Legal Advisor of Catholic Diocese of Pakistan and Church of Pakistan, Diocese of Hyderabad, Panel Advocate of various financial institutions and Municipal Administrations. Mr. Rajput also remained Campaign Coordinator for Amnesty International Hyderabad Chapter and attended many Peace and Human Rights conferences held in Pakistan and abroad. He was also elected as President of District Bar Association Hyderabad for the year 2013. Mr. Rajput was elevated as a Judge of the High Court of Sindh on 31.08.2013 and since he has served at the Principal Seat at Karachi, as well as the Bench in Sukkur and Circuit Courts in Hyderabad and Larkana. While there are over twelve thousand disposal of cases to his credit, arising out of different area of law relating to immovable property, intellectual property, rent, family, arbitration, banking and criminal laws; however, Mr. Rajput finds matters of human rights and civil liberties close to his heart. As a Judge of High Court, Mr. Rajput remained Monitoring Judge of Judicial District Matiari, Hyderabad, Shikarpur and Karachi-South. Mr. Rajput represented High Court of Sindh at a Seminar held for Judges from Member Countries of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing, China in December, 2023. |
